BIOGRAPHY
Paige Geissler, a Chicagoland native, began her professional dance training under the direction of Kate Jablonski at Beyond Words Dance Company. During her time at Beyond Words, she was fortunate to work with guest artists Teddy Tedholm and Jaci Royal. While training, she had the honor to dance off-Broadway in Jablonski’s production, Beyond Words, at New World Stages Theatre in New York in 2010, and performed with Jablonski’s professional company, The Kate Jablonski Statement, in Tabula Rasa sponsored by Dance Chicago in 2014.
In 2016, Paige moved to Long Beach, California to pursue her BFA in Dance at California State University, Long Beach where she earned to dance on scholarship. She was featured in works by guest artists Mark Morris, staged by Megan Williams, and Kevin Williamson as well as many other faculty and student works. Discovering her love for choreography at CSU Long Beach, Paige was chosen to present work, Two Perspectives, in the Spring 2020 Contemporary Concert. During her summers, she trains vigorously in various dance intensives including Orsolina28, DanceWorks Chicago, Flockworks, and LINK Dance Festival hosted by SALT Contemporary Dance Company where she was able to collaborate choreographic ideas and perform works by Juliano Nunes, Joshua Peugh, Joshua Manculich, Alice Klock, Florian Lochner, Cameron McKinney, and Lauren Edson.
As a choreographer and mover, her work dives deep into vulnerability, authenticity, and human connection. She craves for individuals to slow down and explore their artistic voices as humans and artists, which will allow them to uncover themselves to take risks and have agency on stage. While creating, she often explores the idea of being effortless through different movement dynamics to experience how that shapes her into the artist she is today. Her most recent choreography was presented at Edge Theatre in Chicago entitled Spark of the Abyss.
Currently, Paige is a Freelance Dancer in Chicago and has been honored to work with three Chicago based dance companies — Alluvion Dance Chicago, Aerial Dance Chicago, and The Kate Jablonski Statement. Paige recently toured to Šibenik, Croatia with The Kate Jablonski Statement in their production Dream State in summer of 2022 and was invited back to Europe this past summer 2023 to work with FLOCK and Juliano Nunes in Italy. While she is not practicing her craft of dance, she loves to teach Pilates (certified through Body Arts and Science International with a Dance Specialization), rock climb, and travel!
